The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night to take a 3-0 lead in the 2026 World Series. Robert Gasser started the game for Milwaukee, and the offense produced enough runs to close out the third contest in a rout. With the series now standing at three games to none, the Brewers can clinch the title as early as Tuesday night.
Game 4 is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, October 27, at Tropicana Field. The broadcast will air on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo. If the series goes to a fifth game, that contest is set for Wednesday, October 28, at the same venue and time. Games six and seven, if necessary, will return to Miller Park in Milwaukee on October 30 and October 31, respectively.
Neither team has won a World Series title in franchise history. The Brewers last appeared in the World Series in 1982, while the Rays last reached the Fall Classic in 2020. Tampa Bay previously lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008, marking their second prior appearance. Because neither club holds a championship, the 2026 series will produce a first-time winner regardless of the final score.
The Rays earned their spot in the World Series by defeating the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Championship Series. Junior Caminero hit a home run in Game 6 of that series, helping Tampa Bay secure the American League pennant. The series ended in a 4-2 sweep of the Guardians, with the Rays winning the final three games by scores of 7-3, 3-1, and 7-3.
The Brewers advanced to the World Series after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Milwaukee won all four games of that matchup, with scores of 2-1, 7-4, 6-2, and 6-4. Before the championship series, the Brewers defeated the San Diego Padres 2-1 in the National League Division Series. The series concluded with a 3-1 win over the Padres on October 7.
The Wild Card round saw several decisive outcomes. The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Chicago White Sox 3-2 in the American League Division Series, winning the final game 2-0 on October 10. In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in the Division Series. The Braves had eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 in the Wild Card round, winning the deciding game 6-2 on October 1.
The Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox 2-0 in the Wild Card round, winning both games by a 9-2 and 9-0 margin. The San Diego Padres beat the Chicago Cubs 2-0 in their Wild Card series, with scores of 8-0 and 4-1. The White Sox initially beat the Houston Astros 2-0 in the Wild Card round but were eliminated by the Guardians in the Division Series. The full playoff schedule concluded with the Rays' 4-2 victory over Cleveland on October 19.
