Jay-Z is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show. The performance is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The announcement follows a year of events marking the 30th anniversary of the rapper's debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The celebrations, branded as Jay-Z 30, began in late May when he headlined the Roots Picnic. In July, he performed three sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium to mark the 25th and 30th anniversaries of The Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt. The tour included international dates in Paris and London. The series concluded at SoFi Stadium this past weekend with two shows featuring guests Scarface, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Blue Ivy Carter, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Too Short.

In a statement, Jay-Z reflected on the career trajectory leading to the event. He noted that the journey from Reasonable Doubt to the Super Bowl stage represents three decades of music, work, and culture. He described the opportunity as a dream come true that continues to unfold.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league had worked closely with Roc Nation for several years. Goodell stated that his initial request for a Roc Nation produced show was for Jay-Z to perform whenever the moment felt right to him. He expressed excitement for fans to witness the rapper's artistry and cultural impact on the stage.

Oliver Schusser, Apple's Vice President of Music and International Content, praised Jay-Z's influence on global music culture. Schusser said Apple has collaborated with the artist for the last few years to bring other performers to the halftime stage. He confirmed that Jay-Z will take the stage himself this year.

Roc Nation will executive produce the show, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director. The broadcast will air on ESPN, ABC, and Disney+. A Spanish-language telecast will be available on ESPN Deportes and Disney+, with a separate presentation on Univision.

The previous halftime performer, Bad Bunny, drew an average of 128.2 million viewers. That figure exceeded the Super Bowl's overall average of 124.9 million viewers but fell short of the 133.5 million reached by Kendrick Lamar in 2025. Bad Bunny's performance, dubbed the Benito Bowl by fans, won seven Emmy Awards last month, including for outstanding special live. Recent past performers have included Rihanna, the Weeknd, and a group act featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Lamar, 50 Cent, and Anderson .Paak.
