Amelia Dimoldenberg's "Chicken Shop Date," an interview series that has run for 12 years, is ending with a one-night theater event. Dimoldenberg is partnering with YouTube's Cine Club for screenings on Nov. 24 in the U.K., Ireland and Paris. The program will gather all six episodes of the final series for a single showing that includes material not yet released.
The series finale includes conversations with Oasis member Noel Gallagher, Role Model and Jorja Smith. The theater event closes with the sixth episode, which will appear on YouTube three days later, on Nov. 27. The press release describes the film as covering Dimoldenberg's relationship to the format and the reasoning behind her choice to end it.
Screenings are scheduled for Duke of York's Picturehouse in Brighton; Picturehouse Central and Curzon Soho in London; mk2 Bibliothèque in Paris; and Vue locations in Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham, Dublin and London's Westfield. The public shows follow invite-only premieres in London on Nov. 16 and New York City on Nov. 17, with Dimoldenberg taking questions at both.
Dimoldenberg announced last month that she was ending the series. "I never thought I'd stop 'Chicken Shop Date,'" she wrote in a social media post. "I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it's now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one."
