Brewers One Win From World Series Sweep as Rays Face Elimination in Game 4
Milwaukee leads Tampa Bay 3-0 after a 10-1 rout and can claim its first championship Tuesday night in St. Petersburg.

The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from the first World Series title in franchise history. A 10-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday gave them a 3-0 lead, and they can complete a sweep in Game 4 on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The blowout did more than add to the Brewers' confidence. It also let manager-level decisions favor rest: while Tampa Bay cycled through six pitchers, Milwaukee kept top bullpen arms such as Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill fresh for Game 4. The Brewers' relievers have posted a 1.24 ERA across 11 playoff games, a major reason the club is 10-1 this postseason.
Tampa Bay is expected to hand the ball to right-hander Griffin Jax. He went 8-10 with a 3.53 ERA in the regular season but has a 6.00 ERA in two postseason appearances. Jax took the loss in Game 3 of the ALCS, when he allowed one run through four innings before being charged with two more in the fifth.
The Rays play a style similar to Milwaukee's, moving runners and relying on defense, but their bats have gone quiet in this series. They will hope a loud home crowd can help them avoid elimination, something that did not work on Monday. For now, their focus is on winning a single game.
Milwaukee's most likely option to open the game is Dustin May, who carries a 5.63 ERA across six playoff appearances. Both clubs have only two or three dependable starters, so bullpens are expected to shoulder much of the work. Power bats could still matter, including Junior Caminero for Tampa Bay and Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers for Milwaukee.
Projections favor the Brewers. The SportsLine model, which simulates each game 10,000 times, has Milwaukee winning 59% of the time and Tampa Bay 41%. The same model has the teams combining for more than seven runs in 61.9% of simulations.
Prediction market pricing on Kalshi points the same way. A Brewers win was trading at $0.54 per share, implying a 54% chance, while a Rays win was at $0.47. On total runs, over 7.5 was priced at $0.45 and under 7.5 at $0.56. Prediction markets are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and event contract trading carries a risk of substantial loss.
